The interim weather station dashboard is up although it's only showing 2 Pico-W based sensors with just temp, air quality rain & the Geiger counter.

This dashboard is publicly accessible:

There's more to come on the weather station but at least it's now starting to fit together.

I think I still need to add more sensors to the House πŸ˜‚

New today are the Freezer and Geiger Counter.

The Freezer is using a Pico-W and a one-wire temperature sensor.

It's got some way to go as I need to sort a proper cable & 3D print an enclosure.

The Geiger Counter is a GMC-320+ which I've had for a few years.

It's connected via USB to the controller PI so I'm using serial not WiFi but it has the benefit that it doesn't need recharging.

Sometimes commands I type are a bit... unusual at times:

sudo systemctl start geiger-counter
sudo systemctl enable geiger-counter

Working from home to take off? 🏑 🏒

PS: I've been working from home since 2018 πŸŽ‰

That said, the amber warning finishes later tonight at 10pm but around here we have a yellow warning over night from midnight until 8am just for this area so might get even more testing done

Finally seeing some hits on the rain gauge with actual rain which is good news.

What's the most you've ever spent on an operating system?

Bonus question: Did you ever camp out for a midnight launch?

I left it running over night and it didn't log anything... noticed I hadn't enabled the sodding timer.

That's now fixed and got located outside in a temporary location.

If the forecast is correct I'm due some rain today from after 1100 so hopefully I'll see it log some rain :-)

Managed to get the pimoroni Enviro-Weather PicoW board working with a Rain Gauge.

Wasn't that simple as the official firmware doesn't implement the rain gauge yet, so hacked my own up based on theirs.

I loose sleeping so it needs an external power supply but that's fine for this one as it's going by the patio so will have permanent power.

No I've not had 88mm of rain in the last hour, that's what I've pushed through the gauge to test it πŸ˜‚

Finally, there's sign of some rain here in South Maidstone 🌧️
